Grand Opening
Posted by bransonsheets | Tags: bransonDo you remember when Sheetz first opened on Firetower? People were talking about it everywhere! The buzz was all about the price of the gas, the food order screens at the gas pumps, the unique products and so many other things that make Sheetz unique. I remember specials every day, newspaper articles, and everybody chatting about a company from Altoona, Pennsylvania that hardly anyone in Greenville had ever heard of!
Now Sheetz stores have been become so much a part of the fabric of Greenville, (with 4 locations) people now spell my name with a “Z.”
Grand openings don’t last forever, but they are opportunities to get people excited about something new. They are innovative marketing tools. I believe I read that “grand opening” prices on gasoline can only last a certain amount of time by state law. Of course, the low prices at Sheetz worked! Now, many of us have Sheetz cards for our gas purchases and make regular stops for Coffeez and ‘made to order’ Subz.
That’s why we are planning to have a Grand Opening Month at Covenant!
I know what you’re thinking: “Haven’t we already moved in?” Well, yes and no! When we first moved in the new facility, we were trying our best to just move in and have Easter services in the new building. There was no sign, no website reference on the building, and most importantly, no invitation for our community to come in and see what all the excitement was about. We also hadn’t worked out all the kinks (and there have been kinks) in the sound system, ventilation system, children’s ministry, hospitality ministry, etc. Now after six months, the road is paved and open, the signs are up, the place is broken in, and we’re ready for a big grand opening!
So, when will it be? Our Grand Opening begins this weekend, September 19/20. We will have a huge sign out front, advertisements in the community, and we’ll be make a big deal about it in worship. Over the next four weeks, we hope to use this Grand Opening as an excuse to invite our unchurched friends and neighbors to come check out Covenant. You and I both know that when they come, they will like it, so step out and invite some folks in.
We have touch cards that you can hand to someone with your invitation, and we’ll be passing those cards out at worship this week. We’d love for everyone in Greenville to be talking about what’s going on over on Corey Road.
“Have you been yet?”
“Not yet, but I’m trying it out this weekend!”
“Me too!”
See you this weekend,
Branson (Sheetz)

Tennille says:
Hi "Sheetz". I am not a member. I saw the eye catching corner signs by chilis on the way to take my husband to the gally. I am a member at another church. But I want to rejoice with you so I hope to, Lord willing, to stop by Sat. night. I pray for growth, new births, and God's presence be evident in the Covenant house.
Sincerest blessings,
Tennille
