As I spend time in Sierra Leone and in the villages and then think back on what I have in the US, I am ashamed of myself. I pray that I can begin to more seriously lay my "stuff" in heaven and not be ashamed when I get there. Thank you for reminding us to be more aware of our "wants" and "needs" here on earth. We ended up with 2 bags of lawn trash bags of clothes and 6 bags (yes, SIX) of old toys he doesn't play with anymore. He was equally amazed as we loaded up and headed to donate and dump! This year he has only asked for one thing for his birthday (coming up in 2 weeks) - he has realized the waste! AMEN!! I just spent an entire day with my son cleaning out his room. As I read this ,I was visualizing my own closets...I live alone ,have large closets in all three bedrooms, two hall closets , an attic and garage .I have only been in this house one year and guess what? Every area I mentioned above is overflowing....What a shame ;;I am a pack rack by many peoples standards, but actually I really thought I was frugal.
